Norden Farm Centre for the
Arts, Maidenhead 2000
"Of all the mid-scale (£5-10 million)
projects that I have seen, most of which are
regionally-based art centres, the commissions work at Norden
Farm are amongst the very highest quality. In terms of integration with
architecture and the quality of the artists' interventions, the project
has achieved at the very highest level.

Poured Wall
“ Red iron-oxide plaster and the milky drop of four white
columns place the Poured Wall
within the material and architectural context of Norden
Farm. The painting is also a meeting place. It throws a glow into
the Courtyard in the evening and announces your arrival at the
bar. Close attention over its surface yields other presences, the
gravity of paint pins down an illusory tension and builds depth
into the rich, earthy spaces contained between the pours.
